Brace Bars for Canvas Stretcher Frames

Types of Brace Bars: We offer two main types of cross brace bars:

-Double Cross Over Brace Bars (Type A and B): These join together as a pair of braces to form a cross in the middle of the frame. We suggest using these double cross over brace bars to provide strength / stability for extra large stretcher bar frames, say for frames sizes from 120 - 180 cm.
-Single Brace Bar (Type C): We recommend using a single cross brace to provide strength / stability for large stretcher bar frames, say for frames sized from 60-120cm in length

Note for smaller stretcher bar frames - say less than 60cm  - it is optional to use cross braces  (i.e. cross braces are not needed for strength /rigidity)

Note Types A, B & C work with for all 3 different types of stretcher bars; Standard, Premium and Gallery. With the Standard bars, the cross braces are fixed into slots provided in the middle of the stretcher bars. With the Premium and Gallery stretcher bars, the cross braces are fixed onto the lip at the back of the bars (use wood screws, or glue, not provided)

Price: The price shown above is for one cross bar (type A, B or C).

If you want a double cross over brace (recommended for extra large frames sized 120-180cm), you will need to order 2 cross bars (1 x Type A and 1 x Type B)

If you want a single brace (recommended for large frames sized 60-120cm), you will need to order 1 cross brace (select Type C in the drop down menu above). Note we suggest choosing the single brace to match the smaller side of your frame. For example, for a frame sized 110 by 70cm, we suggest a single cross brace 70cm long.
